In his video Back At Bree's, Daniel returns to Bree's house to look for clues as to what might have happened to her parents. He says that he found something, but he does not say what it was. In a later video, Undisclosed Location, he demonstrates that he found a box with lemniscate imprinted on it, and in Breaking And Entering, he finds boxes with the same symbols.

Background
In algebraic geometry, the word lemniscate refers to any of several figure-eight or ∞ shaped curves, of which the best known is the Lemniscate of Bernoulli. It is also sometimes used to refer to the ∞ symbol used in mathematics as a symbol for infinity.
*Lemniscate of Bernoulli
*Lemniscate of Booth
*Lemniscat of Gerono

A lemniscate could also be representative of the Ouroboros symbol. Although it is commonly depicted as a serpent or dragon swallowing its own tail and forming a circle, it can also be found in the shape of a lemniscate. It has been used to represent many things over the ages, but it most generally symbolizes ideas of cyclicality, primordial unity, or the vicious circle. The ouroboros has been important in religious and mythological symbolism, but has also been frequently used in alchemical illustrations. In the last century, it has been interpreted by psychologists such as Carl Jung as having an archetypal significance to the human psyche. However, when Bree reveals that the symbol on the box is the logo for a company her father used to work for, the idea that the lemniscate was an allusion to the Ouroboros or any other mystical symbol became very unlikely.

Significance in the series
Daniel said that the box had an invoice in it, which he used to find information about the company from which it came. Although Daniel didn't provide any additional information, Bree commented on the symbol. In Skateboarding she mentions that the symbol looks familiar and that she thinks it was the logo of a company where her father used to work. He did research for them and specialized in ribozymes, so presumably the company researches genomes. In this context, the lemniscate symbol could be representative of the double helix shape of DNA.
(Jonas is in the library. He addresses the camera.)

Jonas: Okay, so, I have a little factoid for everybody today. I don't know if you knew this, but when somebody goes missing it actually takes a few weeks before they're classified as missing. Anyway, I was telling Bree about this last night, that is until she looked extremely bored, and then, she kind of excused herself and went to bed. I don't know, I was just trying to take her mind off of her parents. I just think that sometimes if you can just clear your head, you can see things from just a whole new perspective.

(The camera shows a skateboard outside, between two piles of cushions.)

Okay, as soon as sleepyhead wakes up, I'm gonna teach her how to skate. But, the only problem is, skateboards, they don't have training wheels, so, I had to improvise.

(The camera cuts to Bree, who is wearing a hat.)

Bree: I can't believe I got talked into this.

Jonas: Huh?

Bree: At least I have a soft landing. If I fall.

Jonas: Uhh, yeah, when-when you fall.

(cut to Bree sitting on one of the piles of cushions.)

Jonas: Well that was-- (Bree gets up, Jonas reaches his hand out.) Are you okay, that was--that was a good solid first try, really. You bruised? You okay?

Bree: No. Think I'm gonna do this myself, I think I can do it better.

(Bree puts the board down, and puts one foot on it.)

Jonas: Need a little help there?

Bree: No! (Bree pauses.) How do I start?

(Neophilia by Rebel Rebel plays, as clips of Bree and Jonas skating are shown. The music stops, and Bree is sitting on the skateboard.)

Bree: It's the skateboard's fault. What kind of lame excuse for a skateboard is this, anyway?

Jonas: That's a Powell Peralta.

Bree: Powell?

Jonas: Mm-hmm. Okay, never mind.

(Cut to Bree in the library.)

Bree: So, Jonas taught me how to skate, with minimal scraps and bruises. It's pretty nice of him, I think. He's still out there. Skating. So Daniel, I saw your last video. I think it was a really good idea that you left your house. As for the box that you found at my parent's house, that symbol looks really familiar. I think it's the company my dad used to work for or something. I don't know a lot about what he did, because he was very secretive. He always encouraged me heavily in the sciences. I think that was why he was such a strict disciplinarian. He wanted me to be a big shot at NASA or something. I miss him. He did research for a bunch of companies. He specializes in ribozymes. I like that word. I made a joke about Newton's laws of motion today, when I fell off my skateboard. You would've laughed. Bye! (Bree waves.)

Notes
*This is the first video in which Jonas directly interacts with other characters.

*When Jonas tells Bree that the skateboard is a Powell Peralta, she seems to pause before she confusedly repeats, "Powell?". Bree might have just realized that her call to Powell's Dry Cleaners earlier was a puzzle.

(Throughout, we see close-ups of Bree in different locations in Jonas's house.)

Bree: What Jonas said the other day, about needing a distraction? I think he was right. I know that's why he tried to teach me how to skateboard, but... that didn't really work out.

The problem is, Jonas lives in the middle of nowhere, so for the first time, I'm free of all rules and restrictions, and to be honest, there's absolutely nothing to do. Thankfully, I discovered that Jonas owns a lot of DVDs. Maybe it's a side effect of bring home-schooled, but it's hard for me to watch a movie or a TV show without stopping and thinking that maybe I should be learning something. I think that's why my parents always tried to limit what I watched, because I have what some people might call an "active imagination."

When I was little, my dad used to encourage me to read by buying me Nancy Drew novels, so ever since then, I've been obsessed with any movie, TV show, or book that involves detectives, spies, and secret codes, anything where it all sort of... fits together at the end. I wasn't always allowed to watch those kind of shows, except for one exception. My dad's research kept him really busy, but he always made sure to devote one afternoon a week to spend time with me. So on those afternoons, if there was a spy movie that he wanted to see, he knew that he wouldn't get any complaints out of me. (little laugh) But I think that my mother wasn't always happy when she'd find out.

Missing that time with my dad made me put together a little detective, spy, secret code, and mystery movie marathon out of Jonas's DVDs! I watched Citizen Kane, Usual Suspects, Sneakers, Out of Sight, Ocean's Eleven, and Never Say Never Again. It was fantastic! So, after watching all of these, I became obsessed with an elaborate theory that I concocted about the other day when I dialed a wrong number, as if somebody was trying to get in touch with me using code. And, after dialing and redialing and trying to figure it out, I realized that it wasn't gonna lead me anywhere. And now that I think about it, it's actually a little bit embarrassing. Owen offered to take credit for it, but I wouldn't let him. (little laugh)

Anyhow, I thought that I was really smart and that I was really on to something, but I guess that sometimes a coincidence is just that.

Notes
*Although Bree talks as if she had not figured out her father's message, she is actually speaking in code and telling him that she indeed received it. The first letters of the titles of the movies spell "CUSOON", as in "See you soon." Since her father's message said to meet him a week after receiving it, Bree should be meeting with him Saturday, December 30th, 2006.

Tachyon was also a strange tag appearing in Bree's video What's A Date?.

Tachyon was first discovered by YouTube user LonWpnX who looked up all the LG15 tags. The similar style to OpAphid and the similar story to Bree caught their eye. When the user was subscribed to, the vids were pulled until the release of The Action of an Enemy - Be Careful

Daniel mentioned Tachyon in the video "Homeless" in which he says that it is she who informed him of the bug in his car. It is now assumed Tachyon is an official ARG like OpAphid
Bree Phone Home is the 100th video in the Lonelygirl15 video series.

Transcript
(Bree is alone in Jonas's library. She addresses the camera.)

Bree: Daniel, I was really glad to hear from you after I saw your last video, 'cause... I was worried. You know, Jonas is a really nice guy and his offer still stands, so I hope you change your mind. P. Monkey and Owen have even offered to room together, so you'll have your own room. That's pretty generous. On a more serious note, umm, I spent the last few days doing some research, trying to track down a few of my parent's old friends and some relatives. My family is actually scattered all over the globe, so, there are quite a few relatives that I haven't even met. For the purpose of today's phone calls, we're gonna be using good old fashion caller ID blocking, for a safety precaution. I learned my lesson about that once before. A while back, I got into trouble making them with my friend Cassie. Looking back, I'm not even sure what was so funny about it. It's like, she would call people, and just try and freak them out by, either whispering "I'm watching." It was kinda creepy. The first time she came over, I just went along with it. I felt guilty, but it was kind of amusing. The second time, she went to far and of course, we hadn't thought to block my parent's caller ID. Even though I didn't make the phone calls, I ended up taking the blame when my parents confronted me. Apparently, they had a lot of angry call backs from some very upset people. My mom was furious.

(Bree holds her hands up beside her head and makes horns with her fingers, and imitates steam coming out of her ears.)

I kinda stopped talking to Cassie after that.

(A Cup Of Blue by Steve Watkins begins playing.)

I haven't seen her since.

(Bree rocks in the chair, and talks on the phone.)

Hi, I was wondering if you might be able to help me. My aunt-- Oh. Sure.

(Bree sits in the counter with the trophies in the corner. Cut back to Bree in the chair.)

I know! It's been a long time since camp. I was just wondering if maybe your parents have heard from my parents, at all.

(The camera cuts to Bree on the counter, whistling and looking at her nails. Cut back to Bree in the chair.)

No, I didn't get the birthday card. I haven't exactly been home in a while to check my mail. It's a long story.

(Bree stands in front of the bookcases.)

Oh, sorry if I woke you up.

(Cut to Bree leaning down to the camera.)

It's really late in England.

(The camera cuts to Bree on the counter, whistling and slapping her knee. Cut back to Bree in the chair.)

Excuse me? Oh, umm, how'd the ceremony go?

(Bree beats the phone against her forehead.)

P. Monkey? P. Monkey's alright. As good as a puppet can be. Owen? Owen is a... little bit depressed, actually. I think it's a bit of a seasonal depression.

I'm actually a little nervous about making the next call. My dad has always talked about my great uncle Franklin, but, I've never met him before. He lives in San Francisco.

(Bree mumbles the number as she dials.)

287-0211

(Bree listens to the phone, and looks confused.)

That's weird. It says Powell's dry cleaners. It's just a message. It's just a message. After what happened with Gemma, maybe it's best that I don't have any contact with people from the community. So, there goes every single lead that I thought of. Back to square one for me.

(Bree waves.)
Our current specials are as follows: Dress Shirts, 3 for 5 dollars, with a 8-9 day turn around time. We also offer a rush service at a rate of 3 shirts for 12 dollars. Bree: (on camera) So today, we're going to take a few basic scientific principles and prove them wrong. First up is the Uncertainty Principle. The Uncertainty Principle states that no one can truly observe the universe in its present state, because as soon as you look at it, it changes. (Cut to Bree facing left.) Like now. (Cut to Bree facing away from the camera.) Or now. (Cut to Bree sitting on her bed.) Or now. (Cut to Bree doing a headstand, braced against the far wall.) Or now. (Bree looms in huge closeup, her head and cleavage nearly filling the frame.) Or now. (scene cut - Bree has resumed her regular seat at the desk) So when Daniel comes over today and does absolutely nothing, I'm gonna stare at him.

(scene cut -- Daniel is lying on Bree's bed, examining the digital video camera which will later be used to film the outdoor episodes. There is a black platter of Triscuits on the bed. Bree is leaning on the bed facing Daniel, staring silently. Daniel seems unfazed.)

Daniel: Yes? (Daniel still examines the camera.) What would you liiiiike.....?

(Daniel finally closes the camera and wordlessly gets into a staring contest with Bree. )

Bree: (lying on her stomach on the bed) So there you have it. I've done everything to try and make him move... and as you can see, (She looks back at Daniel, fiddling with the camera again and eating crackers.) he hasn't. Looks like the Uncertainty Principle is a bucket of suds. Next time? The Tolstoy Principle. I hope you'll join me next time for another exciting installment of 'Proving Science Wrong.' Oh! (Cut to Bree sitting crosslegged on the bed staring at Daniel again while he plays with the
camera again and eats crackers again. She keeps staring as she takes and eats a cracker.)

Gemma: Hi, so I wasn't sure I was going to do this video blog and, umm... (Gemma looks around.) I'm a little scared to go back to my flat at the minute. Okay, Saturday night, me and my flatmates went to see this play called "Two Graves" and it's, umm, it's a story about murder and retribution, and for some reason I just had this eerie feeling that I was being followed. At first I just ignored it, and, umm, I assumed I was tense because of the subject matter of the play, but then I went to the pub to grab some dinner, and, umm... during my entire meal, I was convinced that I was being watched. Before they brought over the bill, I had to go to the toilet, and, umm, that's when I saw him. In the corner booth, there was this man, in a black suit with dark sunglasses. I didn't see his hand, but I could've sworn he was a watcher. I was too afraid to go home so the last couple of days I've spent with my friends. I'm not sure what to do. I don't know why they would be following me, not unless... not unless they know I was trying to help you. Bree, umm, you mentioned you would be in the chat room so, maybe I'll be able to talk to you then. Anyway, I've gotta go. I'm gonna go to my friend's place and upload this.
Bree: So... I'm really happy for the first time... in a while. I talked to my parents last night, and I told them that I don't want to do the ceremony anymore. I told them that Lucy and some of the other members had created a fake ceremony to trick Daniel, and that I didn't recognize any of the people from the community there. I said that Lucy wouldn't tell me when the ceremony really was, and... she just wanted me to keep preparing indefinately. And my parents said... okay. I guess they had some misgivings as well. They'd asked my dad to keep giving me shots after the ceremony so, he said he thought that was kind of weird. My parents promised that they would go and talk to some of the deacons and tell them I'm not going through with the ceremony. I don't know. I guess I feel kind of... well, really relieved. And the best part is, I told my dad how Daniel had kind of been following me, and keeping watch over me, and dad said that he could come over again. Who knows? Maybe my dad and Daniel will get to be friends over this. But anyway, everything is great again and Daniel's coming over tomorrow. I promise I won't let him sit on the bed and read magazines during my video. Bye!
