I represent the community which is dedicated to finding out the answers behind Maddison Atkins and Adam Wilmott’s tragic death. We’re also very dedicated in helping your student Clara Stokes, finish her thesis project so that she can graduate.

Many of us have gotten very close to Maddison, and are also very close to Clara, and we’d like to help them both out. We are a tight knit community and we are very set on helping your student find out more about our friend.

By soliciting Clara Stokes to take on this tragedy as her thesis project, it is understood that you are aware of the questions and the possible emotional and physical ramifications of this project. Our recent attempts at uncovering information about the deaths of Maddison and Adam have not been as productive as we would have liked.

We decided to contact you, the advisor. My question for you is how were you connected to Maddison? How did you know her? And, how did the death of Maddison affect you and the Nacogdoches community? Any information that you have would be helpful. I would like to thank you in advance for your time. I’m back, I’m not awake yet, but I’m back. You may notice that I’m actually sitting on the couch this time. I hate to admit it, but this corner might be the cleanest part of my apartment. And, I have a mouse. And not like a pet mouse, that lives in my ceiling. Um, I’ve named him, his name is (uses haughty sounding voice) Sir Darius Higgenbotham. Wittle Dawius. (Does a mouse imitation) And he sits with me and watches me play video games late at night. How do you determine between a mouse and a rat again? Um, size, right? So if a mouse, (puts fingers a couple of inches apart) is about yea big (moves one hand several more inches away) Okay, if a mouse is about yea big. It’s a rat. Shit. I think I am just going to keep my little feet and body on the couch today.

Mr. Atkins, I got your email and that sounds great. So I’ll be there. For the rest of you, if I don’t return by Wednesday, send a search party. Sir Darius is probably quite well acquainted with my scent by now, so we’ll have him lead. (Goofy voice) Wittle Siw Dawius Higgenbotham. I can see him with a little sword, a little shield, leading. Um, no, I’m sure I’ll be fine. I don’t know if it’s going to be strange bringing my camera. But um, I’m just going to do it. I can always turn it off if someone’s bugging me.

About last week (cut to Marla w/ no coffee cup) I’m sorry I couldn’t tell you where I was going before I got there, um, safety first. And I’m a little bit paranoid. It was Vegas. I went to Las Vegas, and I did try calling Adam Lamar. Um, I don’t know what his deal is cause I tried like calling him a hundred times. He must be (air quotes) busy. (Mimes marijuana smoking) He did call me and try to leave a guilt trip on my voice mail. Adam Lamar, therapy, try NLP (?) it works for me.

About the Arscott video, Um, I think a voice is a lot more powerful when a face is attached to it. So we should have as many of our faces on camera as possible. I was looking at past videos like the tribute video that Clara made, and it really is the fact that we’re speaking on camera that makes it powerful. I think we should show Dr. Arscott, who is a complete stranger to all of us, that we exist. That we’re really here. And for anyone who doesn’t know what we’re talking about, check the link in the description. We could probably really use your help. Uh, I’m gonna go get dressed. (picks coffee cup up off the floor) Um, I really hope Darius hasn’t been drinking out of this. (Goofy voice) He’s so cute, little whiskers.

I travel a lot. (camera filming road, while driving) I know I’ve mentioned that before. And this trip (back to Marla by the bed) was meant to be a really fun trip. And I know it fell in kind of an awkward time, but I decided to take it anyway. Sort of like a mental regrouping. Um, Mr. Atkins, I saw your video and, I think it’s a really good idea if we meet up. Marla Singer is a character from a Brad Pitt movie, so I’m not as dumb as you think I am and I’m just curious, is that your real name? Or is that your internet name? I’d like to know that. Um, also, if possible, I would like to actually meet you in person. I saw your Mohawk. (Chuckles slightly) Weird, I liked it. Um, I’m not pulling the weird card on you right now; I just would like to meet you. Um, maybe at Java Jack’s, you know the coffee place on North Street, if you want. Um, that’s safe, we can meet. Um… I’m actually pretty impressed with the way you’ve handled yourself. I mean I know you’ve irritated some people, and I know that you’ve acted a bit crazy sometimes, but I appreciate that because I’ve done some crazy things myself. And, we’re all trying to cope right now. You know, I’ve got my own set of problems. I’ve sold my house. We’re going to close next week. And, um, my wife, um, you know, she’s pretty sick. (Speaks very quickly, rushing sentence together) And she’s still grieving for Maddison and everything and I guess it’s driven her kind of over the edge. Anyway, Evie, that’s my wife and, it’s just um… just, uh…

You know I sit in my house as long as I can and then, um I feel myself beginning to go crazy with my wife. So lately, what I’ve been doing is, I’ll take her outside and I put her in the chair. Why am I telling you this stuff? Anyway, I put her in a chair outside, and, and I shoot hoops. And I’m not a basketball player, but I’ve got to do something to get out of the house. So, I shoot hoops (makes a “shooting hoops” motion with one hand) and she watches me. And um, the other day I saw kids riding by on their bicycles back and forth and watching us and stuff, and I was jus… it occurred to me then that they think that we’re both kind of crazy. And suddenly this house that, that I loved and that, that was a… used to be a house where my family lived is now this house that I’ve sold and I’m leaving. And it’s going to become this neighborhood legend as the house full of crazy people. Because they see my wife sitting there, and they see the sadness in my eyes, I imagine. It actually kind of made me laugh, (chuckles slightly) I was thinking well you always wanted to be a legend, and now, now I guess we will be because people will talk about this long after we’re gone. And say, “Oh yeah, that’s where the crazy people lived.”

Anyway, wow, I understand blogging now, huh, cause you just get to spill your heart out. Anyway, I just um, there’s just so much you could do. If you or Marla, or whatever your name is and if Clara would ever call me back I mean there’s just a lot you could do. You could solve a lot of things for me, a lot of mysteries in my life. So, um, I would like to meet you. (Waves to the camera)

It’s really really easy to sit from 3000 miles away and type on a computer. Um, and tell me what I should and should not be doing. It was really easy doing that for Maddison. And it was really easy doing that for Clara. And being here… is not easy like that. It’s totally different. Being here strips me of all the confidence that I had sitting at my computer thinking about what I knew was right, and what the next step was, and who I should talk to. Um… and that’s scary. I know I have friends in everybody online and I know that you’re just trying to help. And, down here I don’t really have anybody anymore. I mean I have friends um, but those friends don’t really know me inside of all this. They know me as the new girl in town. Um, and we go do fun things, but since Adam moved and since Clara’s been totally missing in action, I’m alone. And no, I don’t talk to people about this stuff. I don’t go around advertising that I know Maddison Atkins and that I’m investigating her murder. And that I um, you know, I knew about Frady, and, and I think that there’s a conspiracy behind all that. That’s a bad idea. Um, I think that we should probably learn from our mistakes.

(Long Pause) I just think that I should, play this safe. And, um (sigh) I wanna do this stuff. I want to investigate and I want to find out the truth. And, and I want to be… totally involved. And, I’m frightened. And that’s really tough to admit to you and to myself. (Long Pause) Um … I guess I could, I could go do everything you’re telling me to do. Um, I could go talk to Dr. Arscott, and ask him where Clara’s been cause I haven’t seen her. But, I somehow doubt that he’ll tell me. I meant that’s not really information for him to give out, right? Even if he does know.

Um, (Long pause) I’m worried about Clara. And I’m worried about what happened to Clara, because um, she’s definitely not who she used to be. When we met Clara she was a college student trying to finish her thesis and, we all tried to pull together to help her. And, the more involved she got, the more… broken she became. And when I look at her now, I don’t see the same person. I don’t even see that sort of defiant snarky girl anymore. I see she’s sort of empty. And I don’t know how that happened, but I know that it has something to do with her involvement. I know it has something to do with Maddison, and Frady, and what she went through. So, yeah, that scares me too. I mean, what’s going to happen to me. Not that anything’s happened, I mean I feel fine, um, and, ah, um, no one’s approached me and no one’s spoken to me, and I don’t have pigeons on my door or anything, but … what if, right?

So, for everybody with kind words, um, Sheetz, and Greg, and Krielok, JL, and Hopeful, and Jazmyn, and (deep breath) Rekidk, and Vacant, and Skunk, and Deagol, and Sparky, um, thanks. Um, UKeepWhatUKill, thanks, I guess I can take that compliment. I hate it that I’m scared. (Looks very uncomfortable) You know, and I’m not just letting you guys down, I’m letting Maddison down too. And yeah, I feel that. (Cut to Marla closer to the camera)

And the rest of you, the you're down there for two months and we don’t hear anything, you’re posting on Maddison’s account, you’re not doing exactly what we want you to do. I get it. And my response is what the fuck?

You know, when I moved down here, I was accused of playing some (air quotes) hero. That’s not why I moved down here. I moved down here for other reasons. All of which were personal reasons. And so when I got here, I tried to lay low, I tried to play it cool. I didn’t bug Clara, I didn’t get involved, I didn’t push anything anywhere, which, by the way was exactly what you told me to do. And suddenly, I get emails telling me that I’m useless, that I haven’t been doing what I should be doing, that I’m not involved. And when I open up and say that yeah I’m human, and I am a little bit scared I get beat up for it. What the fuck? You know I’ve been traveling. I haven’t been in Nacogdoches nearly as much as you might think. And… and how do I afford to do that, well I have a little bit of money set aside to do that. And yeah, I have been posting to Maddison’s account, I’m relevant. And I am our only connection to this here. I’m sorry, I’m not doing enough. I get it. I should be doing more. And I already spoke about that, so you can check the last video cause I don’t even want to go there again. (Looks away, and then back to the camera)

And you know what, me saying that is just going to make it, worse. Which is awesome. (Looks away from the camera at close of video to hide emotion.)

So, I am going to uh cut my hair, right now, outside, (holds up razor to camera, then moves it toward her hair.) with this. Um… And my friend here, she’s gonna help me out, but she doesn’t wanna be on camera, so, I won’t put her on camera. Here we go.

(Sped up footage of the friend – who’s arms are all that are seen, begins cutting Marla’s hair, Right side first, with scissors, and then with the razor, then moving to the other side, and repeating the process. They are clearly talking, but due to the speed of film unable to hear/make out what is said. At one point her ear gets clipped during the process.
