LG15 Spin-offs

2007-08-11T23:40:17Z

Mechanicalanimal: /* Interactive */

==History==
In their post on November 24th, 2006 on the [http://www.lg15.com/lonelygirl15/forum lonelygirl15 message forum], the [[the Creators]] of [[lonelygirl15]] explained the various ways that viewers could interact with their story. Along with viewers' ability to use the official forum to discuss the plot and characters with each other and post questions, comments and suggestions to the characters via the character interaction section of the forum, the Creators emboldened fans to "[c]reate your own characters and storylines within the [[Breeniverse]]." The post goes on to explain that once fans create such videos, this work can be submitted "as 'Video Comments' to a video we produce." Fans were encouraged to "Give [[Bree]] or [[Daniel]] advice. Create your own story (like [[LordGreystoke422]]) or make parody videos (like [[LonesomeOctober]])...you are only limited by your creativity." Many fans took up this challenge and began creating their own response videos. These fan-created videos are diverse in content, genre and production values.

Members of the official forum were given a section in which to discuss these fan-created works. The comments about these fan creations range from praise to criticism to lengthy discussions to occasional speculation about whether or not a video response is connected to the official story. One example of such speculation surrounding an official connection to the lg15 story has revolved around the video responses of [[Nikki Bower]], whose investigative report videos have been set in many of the same locations as [[canon]] videos. This speculation could be due to the fact that two official characters, [[Gemma]] and [[Jonas]], were introduced to the audience in videoblogs under the guise of fan responses. Once Gemma and Jonas were acknowledged by Bree in her videoblog, these two characters were understood to be an official part of the Breeniverse. Speculation about other videos revolved around the fan spin-off [[OpAphid]], which became the official [[Alternate Reality Game| ARG]] of the lonelygirl15 series. OpAphid is unique in the fact that it was not created by the lg15 production team, but was rather incorporated into the series. According to a post made on Neovember 24th, 2006 on the official forum, the Creators stated that OpAphid "was a 100% fan created ARG. We liked it so much that we decided to contact the creator and make it the official LG15 ARG."

In this November 24th post, the Creators continue with the following statements: "We can't wait to see what other characters and storylines you guys come up with. Your creativity and passion is truly amazing." Although the producers of the lonelygirl15 saga encourage fan-created materials, they are careful not respond to, comment on, or endorse these videos in any way. Fan creations can be uploaded to users' personal [[Revver]] accounts, and can appear on the main page of the [http://lonelygirl15.com Tribute to Lonelygirl15 site] in a column next to the most recent lonelygirl15 video. Although referred to as "Fan Creations and Spin-offs" on the official forum, they are sometimes referred to by some viewers as {{wikipedia|Fan_fiction| Fan Fiction}}. This genre of fan-created video fiction is still developing and has yet to be named or specifically defined within the lexicon of fan-created endeavors.

LG15 Spin-offs

==History==
In their post on November 24th, 2006 on the [http://www.lg15.com/lonelygirl15/forum lonelygirl15 message forum], the [[the Creators]] of [[lonelygirl15]] explained the various ways that viewers could interact with their story. Along with viewers' ability to use the official forum to discuss the plot and characters with each other and post questions, comments and suggestions to the characters via the character interaction section of the forum, the Creators emboldened fans to "[c]reate your own characters and storylines within the [[Breeniverse]]." Create your own story (like [[LordGreystoke422]]) or make parody videos (like [[LonesomeOctober]])...you are only limited by your creativity." Many fans took up this challenge and began creating their own response videos.

--[[Image:LadyLaz.jpg|right|175px|thumb|Once used as LL's background page]]
'''TheLadyLazarus''' a.k.a. '''Codename: Double L''' is a very mysterious fan fiction character connected to the [[GuillotineCalamity]] (aka Sister) ARG Arc on YouTube. The contributor of this character introduced LL by utilizing lines from the poem "''Lady Lazarus''" by Sylvia Plath in the first ten videos.

== What is known about [Codename: DoubleL] ==
As of yet, there is not very much information out there on LadyLazarus (AKA "LL" or Double L.) There are more questions than answers concerning this character. One of the biggest questions is whether "Lady" Lazarus is in fact a lady.... Recent discussions on the [http://z8.invisionfree.com/CodenameTripleKnot CTK Forums] have led players to believe that LL is actually a man. Of course it hasn't helped that we never really see LL's face as it is usually covered by a strange mask. Even so, LL's face has also been blurred, smudged and faded in some videos.
The change of the name from TheLadyLazarus to Double L has made it easier to create the ambiguity of gender.

Another big question is Double L's relation to Sister. There are some players who swear that DoubleL has been a truly evil character from the beginning. While it is true that her first set of videos were definitely not of a jovial nature, her more recent actions do not reciprocate such intentions.

As of late, Double L seems to be quite friendly with GuillotineCalamity. In her newfound blog a message warning Sister of her grandfather, W was decrypted. Oddly enough, this wasn't the first time Double L has sent Sister a message of warning concerning W. Though, for the sake of argument, this may also be seen as DoubleL taunting Sister about being chased.

Double L and Sister.... Friends or foes?

In all "TheLadyLazarus", "LL", "Double L", or whatever you want to call him/her is an incredibly complicated character, and will continue to be so until he/she chooses to reveal more about themself.

== Video Clues and URLs ==
[[Image:Hell hath 2.jpg|right|175px|thumb|The second TinyPic URL photo that raised some questions, seeing as it has LL's mask over Lg15's face]]
In the "Rebirth Of Casssie" videos he/she has left various clues for the players to think on. Some of them in the form of tiny codes... Each of the clues we were left within these videos were tiny codes that turned out to be [http://www.tinypic.com tinypic] URLs. Each picture found in their respective tinyurl had Double L's signature mask in them... many times.
** from {{youtube|IHFYcVqgyNs|<nowiki>[Cassie(?)}}</nowiki> Part I], the code (''[http://www.tinypic.com/2co0z01 2co0z01]'') was found in the last few seconds of the video. The pic found: A general montage of scary LL masks with the word "''Hell''" superimposed on the pic.
** from {{youtube|8RJBEiuF5yo|<nowiki>[Cassie(?)}}</nowiki> Part II], the code (''[http://www.tinypic.com/403ip79 403ip79]'') was found, again, in the last few seconds of the video. The code was a little less discernable, this time. It is led to believe that because of so, the pic found from this code has a bit more meaning than the other two. In the pic found: like the previous one, featured a montage of scary LL masks, and this time, the words "''hath no''" superimposed on the pic... but... what set this one apart was...
*** it featured [[Bree]] (the 'starlet' of the LG15 world) in the center.
*** part of the backdrop was where [[Jonas]] (another LG15 character) initially made his videos. Revealing the fact that this part of the pic was taken from when Bree had done a vlog from Jonas's house. Most likey her most recent video, in which she expressed her irritation and distress with her male counterpart(s).
*** lastly, a scary LL mask had been superimposed on Bree's face.
** from {{youtube|UVxpNngqDBI|<nowiki>[Cassie(?)}}</nowiki> Part III (Through the Wall)], the code (''[http://www.tinypic.com/2poqgpz 2poqgpz]'') was found, but this time was in the '''first''' few seconds of the video, and easily visible, like the first one was. Also, just like its predecessors, a montage of scary LL masks, and superimposed on the pic, the word "''fury''". The only things I could see that were worth any note was
*** another "Bree-head" partially superimposed with an LL mask
*** and a part of the upper left of the pic that looked somewhat like a door. It just looked quite out of place to me...
** from {{youtube|p3eS5ZCpJUs|<nowiki>[Cassie(?)}}</nowiki> Part IV] near the end (around :27 or :28 in the video) another code (''[http://www.tinypic.com/48efdz5 48efdz5]'') flashes intermittently, in plain view. You just need to freeze the video at the right time, to see it. And again, another montage of scary LL masks... The word "''like''" is in the pic, but someone other than Bree is seen in a mask
*** this time... it looks like it's... Jonas. (lower-left hand corner)
*** and DoubleL's mismatched blue and brown eyes keep watch.
** from {{youtube|4FZrfvtgzUg|<nowiki>[Cassie(?)}}</nowiki> Part V] near :17 another code (''[http://www.tinypic.com/2cmwzh0 2cmwzh0]'') flashes in plain view. And again, another montage. The word "''a''" is in the pic.

The phrase in the pictures, when put together is "HELL HATH NO FURY LIKE A WOMAN SCORNED" (Which, at the time, is rumored to be the current answer to Sister's "'''Knock Thrice'''" riddles).

== The Blog [Codename: Double L] ==
[[Image:12111494.jpg|right|175px|thumb|LL's blog userpic]]
Double L has made several posts into his/her recently made blog on [http://codenamedoublel.livejournal.com/ LiveJournal]. The first two blogs each featured a letter to a character she calls "''B''" (this character is later confirmed to be YouTube user [http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=ProjectStatic ProjectStatic]). Both letters tell coherent stories, but are two in actuality coded messages.
On Double L's blog description there is always a hint as to which code she may be using in her current blog. For these two entries it was found that LL was utilizing the {{wikipedia|V.F.D._Codes|Sebald Code}}, which was first mentioned in {{wikipedia|Lemony_Snicket:_The_Unauthorized_Autobiography|Lemony Snicket: The Unauthorized Autobiography}}, and attributed to {{wikipedia|Gustav_Sebald|Dr. Gustav Sebald}}. The Sebald code is very easy to spot and almost as easy to read... if you know how. The key to spotting a Sebald code is any ringing sound. In the case of DoubleL's letters to "''B''" it was was the tell-tale "ring-ring" imitating a phone. Whenever that ringing is heard, the code has intiated! The first word after the ring is in code, then every 11th word is in code. When ringing is heard again, the code ends.

'''Blog #1''' "Dearest B" Posted, January 23rd, 2007:
The blog is written in plain script, unencrypted in any way (other than the Sebald code mentioned above.) After using the Sebald code technique, the following message was found within the letter.

''' guillotine calamity beware W is near He will get You you won't live DoubleL. '''

'''Blog #2''' "Fall is dory. Horn Fist Hu." Posted, January 24th, 2007:
This blog, the second letter to "B" is believed to be a bit more important than the first, due to it being quite heavily encrypted, this time. The message had gone through multiple stages of encoding. The blog itself was posted in morse code. This was decoded to find it in binary. Decoding from binary the team found that the message was written in reverse text.

Of course, the team still ran the message through the Sebald code gambit, which revealed another hidden message:

''' B her eyes are black now I'm scared DoubleL '''

Also of note in the second blog entry is that an anagram was found in the title: "'''''L is for Lady, H is for Hurt'''''"

No recent entries have been made.

The titles of LL's videos are a bit peculiar. Especially the first ten. When compiled together and put in reverse order they make the sentence "If Looks Could Kill Then I Would Make Myself Blind". Though the quote's origins are not entirely known, the video {{youtube|KgmyCRU3q7o|Project Static.}} offers a possible explanation at the end.

All of TheLadyLazarus' [http://youtube.com/TheLadyLazarus videos] can be found on YouTube.

Codename: DoubleL has been a pretty busy person as of late. In her most recent videos she has left various clues for the players to think on. Some of them in the form of tiny codes...

* [http://youtube.com/watch?v=4zaKD27W0Xc The Message]
This video was intended to be a response to GuillotineCalamity's video, [http://youtube.com/watch?v=7M-EzGjBctQ The Invitation <nowiki>[Part 2]</nowiki>].... In the video in question, Double L answers most of the questions Sister muttered to herself as she walked through a dark (and seemingly empty) house finding various items. Each of the items that Sister comes across is "picked on" by LL. It can be argued that Sister was being taunted or helped by LL with the showing of the importance of the items she had passed by.
One of the more notable nods was a message written on a wall or fence that Sister scanned over. Sister had "spotlighted" the writing on the wall, but it was still difficult to make out. With help from LL, we find the the message is... "''They're all dead. They just don't know it yet.''"

* Next we turn to Double L's most recent videos; an arc which has been dubbed here, the [[TheLadyLazarus#Rebirth of Cassie.3F|Rebirth Of Cassie]].

The phrase in the pictures, when put together is "HELL HATH NO FURY LIKE A WOMAN SCORNED" (Which, at the time, is rumored to be the current answer to Sister's "'''Knock Thrice'''" riddles). Is Double L trying to reference to something that may happen in the [[Breeniverse]], or is she trying to send a message to Bree? This would seem quite odd, since up to now, Bree has never seemed to have been able to see any of the ARG videos.

'''A Solid Lead''' is the one hundred eighty-first video in the lonelygirl15 [[List of Lonelygirl15 videos|video series]].

==Transcript==
'''Bree:''' So, I was watching some videos, at [[Lonelygirl15.com | LG15.com]], and I saw some from this girl named [[Soccerstar | Taylor]]. Have you been watching her videos? In her latest video, she says that she recognizes [[Callmejules24 | Julie]]. Yaaaaaay!! (''As she says yay, Bree's face twists into many humorous positions.'') I messaged Taylor, and she seemed pretty convinced that Julie was in her soccer league last year. Although, she has no idea if Julie's family follows the [[Bree's religion | Hymn of One]]. But, a clue is a clue. (''Points at the camera'')

Taylor lives in Texas. I didn't know they played soccer in Texas. It's hot. I bet they ate a lot of [[Orange Slurpee | orange]] wedges. I would. (''She mimes sticking an orange wedge in her mouth'')

I've been doing some research on the internet about the Hymn of One and the Order. Here's what I've come up with. At the top is the [[The Order | Order of Denderah]]. That's the [[The Deacons#Relation_to_Elders | Elders]] I've talked about before. Unfortunately, I don't really know a lot about these people... I've only heard them mentioned in passings. Some families lived in controlled communities, like [[commune]]s, but most just live in normal neighborhoods like I did. At the local level are [[the Deacons]]. They're sort of like a bishop at a Catholic church. They organize members in a small geographic region. When a girl is chosen for [[The Ceremony (ritual) | the Ceremony]], the Deacons appoint her a Helper. [[Lucy]] was my Helper. The Helper is then in charge of preparing the girl for the Ceremony. Although she keeps almost every important detail a secret. I knew nothing. I mean, I know you guys find that really hard to believe, but besides when to turn and bow and what foods I could and couldn't eat... Lucy kept me in the dark. To be honest, I don't know how much she knew.

The only other members I've encountered besides Deacons and Helpers are these people some refer to as [[Watcher]]s. Because they watch. It was a Watcher that was outside our motel room when we first left home, and it was a Watcher that [[Jonas]] punched. The thing is, is that... they don't seem interested in harming me at all. In fact, it's like the complete opposite. It's like they're trying to protect me. Good body guard. Whenever I've been close to one, they just... stand there. And in Vegas, it was a Watcher who [[Communication Terminated | shot that guy who kidnapped us]]. I don't know, it's so confusing. It seems like there's a conflict within the Order. They all want me to do the Ceremony, but they also need me to do it voluntarily. Although, I don't feel like everybody agrees on the last part. Anyway, I'm going to keep an eye on Julie, so, as always, let me know if you find anything. (''Waves'')

==Notes==
* This the first time Bree mentions [[Soccerstar | Taylor]], which is a serious sign pointing to Taylor being another [[canon]] character.
* Once again Bree calls [[callmejules24]] Julie, even though we learn in her first video that her name is Julia and that she prefers to be called "Jules".
* A [[helicopter]] can be heard in the background after Bree says "because they watch", referring to [[Watcher]]s. This is believed to confirm that it has been Watchers controlling the helicopters all along.
* Bree's comments seem to suggest that she is, or at least still believes that she is, still under the protection of the watchers, despite fan speculation that once a replacement was found she would become fair game.
* Bree makes a reference to [[orange|oranges]] in conjunction with Texas. This should give rise to speculations of a possible sting operation.
* This is the first video in which Bree outright suspects the possibility of conflict within the order itself.

LG15 Spin-offs

2007-05-01T00:56:14Z

Mechanicalanimal: /* Interactive */

In their post on November 24th, 2006 on the [http://www.lonelygirl15.com/forum lonelygirl15 message forum], the [[the Creators]] of [[lonelygirl15]] explained the various ways that viewers could interact with their story.

According to a post made on November 24th, 2006 on the official forum, the Creators stated that OpAphid "was a 100% fan created ARG.

2007-05-01T00:55:07Z

Mechanicalanimal: /* Interactive */

In their post on November 24th, 2006 on the [http://www.lonelygirl15.com/forum lonelygirl15 message forum], the [[the Creators]] of [[lonelygirl15]] explained the various ways that viewers could interact with their story.

According to a post made on November 24th, 2006 on the official forum, the Creators stated that OpAphid "was a 100% fan created ARG.
